Meet Kyson

Here is the story of the week before Kyson was born.

I remember waking up the Monday before Kyson was born thinking "OK baby. You can come now. I am done being pregnant." That was the first time I had really felt done with being pregnant. I had a pretty easy pregnancy, but towards the end I was just ready to breathe, bend and just be back to (semi) normal again. Greg and I had joked because the Broncos made it to the Superbowl and so we kept saying that would be the day I go into labor.
Friday was just another day. My work threw me a baby shower and I really did not feel any different. I got home from work and we went to dinner and I remember saying to my belly "Kyson, mommy really doesn't want to work tomorrow...feel free to come tonight so she doesn't have to!" Little did I know he was already listening to his mom!
I went to bed Friday night and woke up at about 1:00am to go to the bathroom (something that happened about EVERY hour EVERY night!!), as I was getting back into bed I felt a gush run down my legs. I stood there for a minute trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I went back into the bathroom and called Greg in. I told him that I thought my water had just broke, he said "are you sure?" and I told him "well if my water did not break than I have lost all control of my bladder." From that we gathered all of our stuff together and drove to the hospital. I had imagined that moment with me freaking out and thinking "I can't do this. Lets just go home." But surprisingly I was extremely calm. I said to Greg "I hope you are ready for this...the baby is coming tonight!"
We walked into labor and delivery and I told the nurses that I thought my water broke. They took me to a room checked and sure enough it had broken! They hooked me up to the monitors and told me to try and get some sleep. That didn't happen for me, but Greg got himself comfy on the couch and passed right out. The nurse checked to see how dilated I was and I was only at a 2. They hooked me up to pitocin to get the labor moving and told me that I could have an epidural once I was dilated to at least a 4. The pain kept getting worse and the monitor that tracked the contractions was NOT working. The worse the contractions got were not shown on the monitor because it was not working...so I kept thinking that if I wasn't having contractions I didn't want to know what they really feel like.  The nurse came back in and let me know that they could give me some medicine to help with the pain before I got the epidural. I told her I wanted it. I decided to take a bath to see if that would help with the pain while I waited for the medicine. I got out of the tub and the nurse came in and gave me the medicine. It did not make the pain go away...it just made my eyes want to shut. But it was weird because I was not asleep but I could not hold my eyes open. She came back in and checked to see where I was at and at that point I was only at a 3. At that point I thought I was going to be in labor for days. Greg decided that it was time he could call the family and let them all know I was in labor. He walked out of the room and made a few phone calls and came back in and I was dilated to a 6. That is right. From the time Greg left the room, made a few phone calls and came back in I was at a SIX! They hurried and got the epidural and once I had that I was good to go. Seriously the best thing ever! About two hours later we had a beautiful healthy baby boy in our arms!

Kyson had jaundice so we had to stay in the hospital a couple of extra days to make sure he was getting rid of it. We finally got to go home and I was so ready for it! My mom was there for the week to help me adjust and to get some sleep. It was nice to have my mom there to help me out!

Since Kyson is 3 months now I will post some pictures of him through the 3 months!

+1

We are excited to announce that we are expecting a baby BOY in February!! We could not be more excited about it! We went to the Ultrasound last week and then later that night we had a gender reveal party. It was fun to be able to share this and be surprised with all our family!

We went to the ultrasound and Greg wanted to know what the baby was before we opened the gift in front of everyone. So when it came to the part when they show you what the gender is they turned the TV off so I couldn't see what it was. They told Greg what it was and he got this big grin on his face. So I tried to figure out from that what it could be. But honestly, he had never expressed what he wanted...boy? girl? I had no idea what he really wanted! Then came the 3D pictures. OH MY HECK. The little bundle of joy has long legs already. I remember her going to the picture of it and thinking "geez those are some looong legs!" And we all know he did not get those from me! ha. But everything with him seems to be good. They said he was measuring right where he is supposed to.

I have been able to feel him move for awhile now. Greg and I were laying in bed one night and Greg was playing on his phone and I was just laying there, well night is usually when the baby is most active. As I lay there and felt him move I told Greg to push on where he was so he could feel the baby move. But of course once he put his hand there he stopped moving. After Greg gave up on trying to feel him move I started to think about how he wont ever get to feel the baby move like I get to. It is seriously such a weird yet amazing feeling! I am still not used to it...I don't know if I will ever be used to it!

Hard Work.

We have been working on getting our yard done and looking good. It is however taking forever...and I am having a hard time being patient. ha I will say we have come a long way and we are almost done with the driveway. One more pour and then we will be done with the cement part of the yard. We still have to put sod down and get our backyard designed the way we want it. Once it is all finished I will be so happy. Here are some pictures of our progress...

Here is our yard before the first part of the driveway was poured
Here are the boys pouring the driveway.

the part off to the left is what we have left to pour.

Here is the back patio
and here is the patio finished.

Things are really coming along but like I told Greg the other day "I wish we could just snap our fingers and have it all done!" He told me we couldn't do that...as if I really thought we could. ha Our backyard is HUGE and we are trying to decide how much of it we want have grassed. I say the whole thing Greg doesn't like that idea. haha Hopefully we will have it all done before summer is over. That is what I am pushing for...we shall see.

oops...it's been a little while.

So I had planned to update this thing at least once a month. That didn't go so well. ha so here is a catch up of the last couple of months!

Christmas:

That time of year came and went rather quickly. It was a little different this year and did not really feel like Christmas. The weekend before we went to Greg's moms house for her Christmas party. My parents were able to be there and I was happy to see them! We exchanged the sibling gifts that weekend and Reggi got me this cute little book that she made from pictures of the wedding. I absolutely love it! Christmas Eve came and Greg had to work that night so we stayed here rather than go up to my parents. I went to his aunts house for her Christmas party. I was happy I could do that rather than be by myself. Christmas morning came and I got up so I could make us breakfast for when Greg got home. Of course he had to work again that night so he went right to bed. That next weekend we got to go to my parents house and see my family. It was fun to see most of them!

New years:
Greg had to work (of course) so we did absolutely nothing. ha

Other than those little things we haven't done too much.

....oh yeah...my Credit Union got robbed. That was fun!! and the best part is having the members come in and make stupid jokes about it. Like we should think its funny. It's not. Just so ya know. They have linked the guy who robbed us to like 5 other robberies in Idaho. It was not a fun experience, and it really showed me how I would act and handle the situation...during and after the event. I think after has been the hardest and hearing what people have to say. But yeah...that was my excitement for February and some of March.

On the weekends we have Brody we will take him and the dogs to the park and let them run wild. I giggled today when I was helping him hit a ball off a tee and he hit it and yelled "TOUCH DOWN!!!" I then told Greg that he needed to teach Brody his sports. haha

Hopefully we will be more exciting this next month....no promises though!

NAILED IT!!

We wake up Sunday morning and I decided to make the boys pancakes. Then they challenged me. Greg says "What shape are you going to make them?" I said "I will do them in our initials." He gave me this smirk like "you can do that". So I said "challenge accepted!!" They turned out fabulous!! Here are some pictures...

This one is Brody's

This one is Greg's.

And here is mine.

I think they turned out perfectly....don't you? haha You can tell I started to run out of batter by the time I got to mine. I am sure I will just be making circles from now on.

Thanksgiving Weekend.

For Thanksgiving we were at Greg's moms house. It was a fun weekend. On Thanksgiving morning the boys went and played football and then came home and watched football all day. The girls sewed blankets for Reggi. At about 9:30 Thursday night we went out to walmart to go shopping. We really had no reason to go but decided we should go check out the deals. I was glad we went. I got a lot of shopping done. Friday morning we woke up and went back out shopping. The rest of Friday was a lazy day. Saturday we had a wedding to go to after the wedding Reggi and I went over to Gregs grandmas house to decorate her tree for her. We ate dinner there and then drove home. Sunday morning Brody and I woke up and decided to make sugar cookies so we ran to Walmart to get the ingredients. We got back and put up the Christmas tree. Brody was so cute about it. I would put the hooks on the ornaments and he would put them on the tree. He did a pretty good job! The picture I took on my camera was before I got a chair for him, so you can see the line of how high he could reach. After we decorated the tree we made the sugar cookies. While the sugar cookies were baking and cooling we decided to write a letter to Santa. Once that was wrote we made a quick trip to the post office so we could send it to the North Pole. We had a busy Sunday! Here are some pictures from the weekend!

This weekend was so much fun. I think I need a day just to recover from it though! ha even though I didn't do too much!

Honeymoon.

Now for the honeymoon.

We went to Jamaica. OH MY HECK. Such a pretty place. I will start with Saturday before we left SLC. We were at my parents house and I had read somewhere that for international flights you needed to be to the airport 3 hours before your flight. So me being someone who has to be on time made sure we were at the airport 3 hours before our flight...well it took us about 20 minutes to get our bags checked and through security. I had one frustrated husband. He HATES waiting around and doing nothing. So sitting in the airport for about 3 hours was horrible for him. We had about a 2 hour lay over in Atlanta and how did we spend that? We slept on the airport floor. It was a long morning. After a long night and a long morning we finally got to Jamaica at about 1. We got through customs quickly and made our way to find our hotel place. We got there and had to wait about 15 minutes for the next shuttle to take us to where we needed to go. The shuttle came and we had a 2 hour drive to get to our resort. Once we got to the resort the shuttle doors opened and they started playing music and got us drinks. I knew we were in the right place! we checked into our room and decided to put our swim suits on and head to the pool. That is where we spent most of our time. We really just relaxed at the pool or on the beach. It was so pretty! The hotel had places to eat and activities to do, so we didn't leave. We just spent our time at the resort and relaxed. We went kayaking which didnt last too long because I had a mini panic attack (oceans scare me!), we went paddle boating and snorkeling. While we were snorkeling it started to pour down rain. It was a really cool experience snorkeling and having it rain. A couple of the nights the resort had some entertainment. There was a guy would could literally bend in half. It was kind of disturbing. The other one was a drum band. They were seriously amazing! We went shopping one of the days and everywhere we went we were offered free "samples" of rum. It was a very different experience shopping.
Everyone warned us that we would get offered pot. I never got offered it but everywhere we went they asked Greg if he wanted it, or if he "wanted to party Jamaican style". It was such a blast and we are already wanting to plan our next trip there.

I didn't take many pictures, but here are a couple of the ones I did take!

This is when we first arrived. This was taken at the pit stop we took on our way to the hotel.

The view from our room!

This was the guy that could bend in half!!

When we went snorkeling.

I decided I wanted to eat like a Jamaican. I learned my lesson when this plate came.
Boiled banana, boiled dumplings, and corned beef. Was not my favorite!!

Last day. I had to get one more picture.

These are the drum player's. SO GOOD!

We were sad to leave, but happy to go home! I am ready to go back!
